Where to Stay in Paros: Find Your Village and Beach Base
For a first car-free visit, stay in Parikia for ferries and buses. Choose Naousa for harbour evenings, or a beach village for slower days by the sea.

Find your base on the map
Parikia is the ferry and bus hub. The eastern villages, western Pounta crossing and inland Lefkes need different onward journeys.
OpenFreeMap is unavailable. You can explicitly load an OpenStreetMap fallback.
Wind: choose the beach for the day
For windsurfing, compare Golden Beach; for kitesurfing, western Pounta. Choose swimming beaches around the day’s forecast and conditions; the wind notes explain the local trade-offs.
1. Parikia
Choose Parikia when you want arrival day to be straightforward and your plans to stay flexible. The inter-island ferry port and main bus hub are here, with town accommodation, places to eat and the old centre within reach on foot. It is also where I would start comparing rooms when transport costs matter as much as the nightly rate.
Garden-view bedroomKOKOON
A design-led town stay with a garden-view bedroom and balcony.View on BookingAt KOKOON, Double Room Garden View is the category behind the selected bedroom-and-balcony photograph. Lower-level and skylight categories have different outlooks.
Behind the ferryfront, Parikia becomes a town of lanes, churches and the Frankish castle, with Ekatontapiliani among its central sights. Keep that old-town setting distinct from the port road and the accommodation stretching towards Livadia. A hotel described simply as “Parikia” may offer a very different approach with a suitcase.
For an early ferry, ask for the actual walking route to the departure area. For an early night, ask which way the room faces and whether the approach is on a traffic road. The room position matters more than the broad town label.

3 more stays
Stella Hotel — a small waterfront alternative around Livadia, for staying in Parikia rather than commuting into it.
Siroco's Rooms And Studios — traditional accommodation with a pool and courtyard; check the walk into town with luggage.
Casa Di Roma — an old-town pool-and-garden option. Check the selected room’s facilities before planning self-catering.
2. Naousa
Choose Naousa when the harbour, restaurants and village lanes are the point of the trip. Staying here lets you enjoy the evening without making your night depend on a return bus. The choice within the village is between being close to that activity and accepting a longer walk from a beach-side address.
Double/Triple suiteRomantica Suites
Walk into Naousa; Double/Triple Suites add a kitchenette and outdoor space.View on BookingAt Romantica, the 25 m² Double/Triple Suites have a kitchenette with hob and mini-fridge, plus a balcony or terrace. Choose that named category when cooking space matters: the smaller Mini Junior Suites have a different specification. Match the named category’s bed configuration to your party.
Junior suiteCove Paros
Beachfront pool stay near Naousa; guests must be at least twelve.View on BookingAt Cove, the Junior Suite Pool View is approximately 36 m², for up to three guests, with a balcony or terrace. A private pool belongs to a different category. Cove accepts children from age 12, which makes it unsuitable for a family travelling with younger children.2
Stay near the harbour for dinner and bars on your doorstep, or compare the Piperi and Agioi Anargyroi sides of the village for a beach-and-evening routine. The room position still matters for sleep and the walk home. Kolymbithres, Monastiri and Santa Maria are separate beach outings.
KTEL’s published network includes direct Naousa–east-coast services towards Piso Livadi, Logaras and Drios. Check the timetable covering your dates, particularly the return, before planning dinner elsewhere.

4 more stays
Hotel Manto — a small-hotel alternative a walk from central Naousa.
Lilly Residence (All Sea View Suites, Adults Only) — sea-view suites for an adult-focused stay; the operator’s minimum guest age is 15.2
Fotilia Hotel — the character choice. Its windmill suite sleeps two, occupies three levels and has no balcony.
Madaky Hotel — a central option near Piperi, worth comparing when village access comes first.
3. Golden Beach and Drios
Choose Golden Beach, also called Chrissi Akti, when being beside the sand and a surf station is the main benefit. Choose Drios when you prefer a village setting and are happy to make a separate trip to Golden Beach. The group covers different addresses along the coast, not one compact resort centre.
Sea-view doubleGolden Beach Hotel
Beach and surf-station access; the photographed sea-view double sleeps two.View on BookingAt Golden Beach Hotel, the photographed Superior Double Sea View is 19 m², sleeps two and has a private balcony. Families should compare the separate family or apartment categories. The watersports operation also lists activities for windless conditions, so choose the day’s activity with the school.
For a beach-led stay, compare addresses on Golden Beach itself; for village dinners, start with Drios. New Golden Beach is another stretch of coast, so locate the room, the restaurants you want and the bus stop before choosing between them.
KTEL connects the coast with both Parikia and Naousa, but a daytime connection is not a late-night connection. A car can widen your choices; without one, pick an address near the stop and the beach or restaurants you will use most. For kitesurfing specifically, compare western Pounta in section 5 rather than treating every surf beach as interchangeable.

3 more stays
Amaryllis Beach Hotel — another Golden Beach hotel; compare the specific room outlook.
Golden Sand Paros — family apartment options near the sand. The published configurations distinguish two adults plus two children from two adults plus three children.
Drios Luxury Studios — kitchenettes and a pool for a Drios-based stay.
4. Piso Livadi and Logaras
Choose Piso Livadi for a small harbour and meals by the water; choose a Logaras address when the sandy beach is your daily priority. Their appeal for families is practical: a compact holiday around food, the beach and returning to the room, with Marpissa inland for a change of scene.
Apartment bedroomElena Studios & Apartments
An eighty-square-metre apartment with separate bedrooms and a kitchenette for families.View on BookingAt Elena, the Two Bedroom Apartment with Sea View takes four guests with a kitchenette, dining/sitting space and a balcony or terrace. The operator places the property near both Piso Livadi and Logaras beaches. Confirm the walking approach from your bus stop when arranging arrival with luggage or a pushchair.
Logaras has sand and tree shade, while Piso Livadi gives you the harbour setting. Choose between them by the walk you want to make every day. A room advertised under the wider village name may sit back from the waterfront; ask for its exact approach rather than relying on an area-centre pin.
Harbour dinners fit this base more easily than a late night in Naousa. Check the return departure for excursions; for small children, weigh the room-to-beach route and assess swimming conditions locally.

2 more stays
Londos Hotel — a small village hotel, approximately 150 m from the beach according to the operator.
Pnoi Hotel — a pool-hotel option about 200 m from Logaras beach, with a short walk to the sand.
5. Aliki and western Pounta
Choose Aliki for village beaches, waterfront meals and a slower evening pace. For the Antiparos crossing or kitesurfing, look at western Pounta.
Family roomParosland Hotel
Gardens and pools near Aliki; four guests share an open-plan room.View on BookingAt Parosland, the Superior Family Room accommodates four in approximately 30 m², with a king bed and two singles in an open-plan room. It suits families comfortable sharing sleeping space; choose Elena’s two-bedroom apartment instead when a separate bedroom is essential. The operator places Agios Nikolaos beach around 300 m away.
Aliki’s appeal is the easy combination of a village beach and places to eat. The wider southern area also brings the airport closer to your plans, but a short drive is not a walkable terminal connection. Arrange an early-flight transfer for the particular hotel.
Similar names, different coasts. Western Pounta (Pounda port) serves the Antiparos ferry and kitesurfing channel, separate from Aliki village. Eastern Punda Beach lies between Logaras and Golden Beach. From Parikia, take the bus for Pounda port (Antiparos) for the crossing, or the eastern-coast service for Punda Beach. For a stay at the western port without a car, choose accommodation near the stop and plan your return around the timetable.

4 more stays
Angeliki Seaside Hotel — a waterfront alternative for staying close to Aliki’s bay.
Anixis Studios Aliki Paros — compare its ground-floor, two-bedroom Family Apartment for five, with a kitchenette, when self-catering is important.
Acoya Residences — room, studio and apartment categories near Aliki’s beaches; choose the actual layout you need.
Pounda Resort Paros — a member of Radisson Individuals, around 100 m from Pounda port according to Radisson, for access to the Antiparos crossing.
6. Lefkes and the interior
Choose Lefkes when staying in a hillside village is the experience you want: marble details, narrow pedestrian lanes and walks towards Prodromos along the Byzantine route. A beach is an outing from here, rather than the view you step into each morning.
Apartment interiorSunrise View Lefkes
Kitchenette, washing machine and on-site parking in the property listing.View on BookingSunrise View Lefkes is worth comparing for a kitchenette, washing machine and on-site parking listed by the property on Booking. Select a unit with the facilities you need and arrange key handover with the host.
Lefkes is reachable by bus, with Parikia and eastern-coast links. The operator also lists limited direct Naousa-to-Lefkes services; do not assume a matching direct return. Check both directions and the walk from the stop before planning evenings elsewhere. A car adds flexibility for beaches and dinner, but the old village still has pedestrian lanes.

Arrivals, buses and the accommodation fee
Match the arrival to the last part of the journey
For an international trip, compare a connection through Athens to Paros Airport (PAS) with the ferry options available on your dates. SKY express lists Athens–Paros flights; check a sailing-specific operator search for ferries rather than building a connection around a generic crossing time.
For the main inter-island ferry arrival, Parikia gives you the port and bus hub together. From PAS, the checked KTEL timetable lists a service to Parikia, where you can make an onward connection. An eastern-coast or Lefkes address then needs both the correct bus and a workable approach from its stop. For a late arrival, arrange the complete transfer and key handover before travelling.
Bus fares and useful last departures
Open KTEL’s current timetable for the period covering your dates, and check the outward and return directions separately.7
Full daytime single fares, per person, one way, bought before boarding, from the official 2026 fare chart:
| Route | Fare |
|---|---|
| Parikia → Naousa, Lefkes, Aliki or western Pounda port | €2.20 |
| Parikia → Piso Livadi or Logaras | €3.00 |
| Parikia → eastern Punda Beach or Drios | €3.50 |
| Naousa → Piso Livadi or Logaras | €2.20 |
| Naousa → Golden Beach or Drios | €3.00 |
The network day ticket is €12 per person. Compare it with the trips you will actually take. Tickets are sold at the Parikia and Naousa terminals and signed outlets; buying onboard costs more. KTEL specifies bank-card payments for fares.8
A late bus to Naousa does not establish a late bus home from Naousa. For a night out beyond the timetable, arrange a return transfer or stay where you expect to finish the evening.
Antiparos: the departure port matters
The western Pounta–Antiparos ferry carries vehicles and runs year-round; the operator describes a crossing of about seven minutes. Tickets are bought onboard. Check the operator’s timetable and your onward bus, not just the final ferry back.9
There is also a direct passenger boat from Parikia. The municipality describes it as Easter–October, approximately 30 minutes, at €5 one way, without vehicles. Confirm that day’s sailing and fare. A day trip is straightforward to consider from Paros; choosing to sleep on Antiparos is a separate decision about spending your evenings there.10
Climate crisis resilience fee
Greece’s accommodation levy is charged per room or apartment, per night, not per guest, and paid at the property. AADE’s May 2026 guidance gives the bands below. For example, seven April–October nights in a 3-star hotel add €35 per room.11
Climate fee by registered category and property size
| Registered accommodation category | April–October | November–March |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2-star hotel | €2 | €0.50 |
| 3-star hotel | €5 | €1.50 |
| 4-star hotel | €10 | €3 |
| 5-star hotel | €15 | €4 |
| Licensed furnished rooms/apartments | €2 | €0.50 |
| Ordinary short-term rental | €8 | €2 |
| Detached short-term rental house over 80 m² | €15 | €4 |
| Licensed tourist villa | €15 | €4 |
| Licensed furnished tourist residence below 80 m² | €8 | €2 |
| Licensed furnished tourist residence 80 m² or more | €15 | €4 |
The size rules differ: licensed furnished tourist residences use below 80 m² / 80 m² or more; the higher detached short-term house rate applies only over 80 m². Ask the host for the accommodation’s registered category and applicable charge.
“Studio” in a listing title does not establish its tax category.
Season and length of stay
For a first visit, I would usually choose one base for three to five nights. That leaves time for the village you are staying in, a different coast and an inland or Antiparos outing, without repeatedly packing. Split the stay only when the contrast matters to you—for example, Naousa evenings followed by several days beside a surf station.
For spring or autumn, check the hotel’s operating dates and the bus timetable together. A room may be available while the beach or evening connections you pictured are limited. For a late-autumn or winter visit, I would start with Parikia’s port-and-town setting and confirm which accommodation and services are open.
Wind and beach conditions
The Meltemi is the Aegean’s dry northerly wind, occurring periodically through the warmer months. It matters for a beach holiday, but a compass direction alone does not tell you how a particular cove will feel: headlands, the wind’s strength and the stretch of shore all matter. The seasonal pattern is described by Copernicus.
For windsurfing, start with Golden Beach; for kitesurfing, look at western Pounta. For a family swimming holiday, start with a convenient village beach and a room you can easily return to, then check the forecast and conditions locally each day.
For Kolymbithres, check the day’s wind before travelling from Naousa. Keep an alternative beach in mind when the forecast is strong. Aliki’s naturally sheltered setting can be useful, while Piso Livadi and Logaras make beach days easy to organise. Look at the water on arrival and use local advice when choosing where to swim.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I stay in Paros for a first visit?
Parikia is the simplest starting point without a car. Choose Naousa instead when walking home after harbour dinners and bars matters more to you than being beside the ferry hub.
Where should I look on a smaller budget?
Start by comparing Parikia’s rooms and studios with Piso Livadi and Logaras options for the same dates. Include breakfast, cooking facilities and the transfers you will need: a room within walking distance of your daily plans may be the better-value choice overall.
Which base works best with children?
Piso Livadi/Logaras and Aliki make a practical shortlist for a village-and-beach holiday. Choose the sleeping arrangement deliberately: Elena’s named apartment has two bedrooms, while Parosland’s selected family room is open-plan. Then check beach access and conditions locally.
Can I stay in Lefkes without a car?
Yes, for a trip organised around the village and the published buses. Confirm the walk to the accommodation and both directions of any day trip. A car becomes more useful when you want late dinners elsewhere or spontaneous beach changes.
Where should I stay for windsurfing or kitesurfing?
For windsurfing, compare Golden Beach accommodation near the station you will use. For kitesurfing, look at western Pounta on the Antiparos channel. Confirm the school, launch location and room address before booking.
Is Kolymbithres a reason to stay in Naousa?
It can be part of the appeal, but choose Naousa mainly for the village and the journeys you want to make. Plan Kolymbithres around the day’s conditions and your transport.
The final choice
Choose the base that removes the journey you least want to make: to the ferry, home after dinner, between children’s naps and the beach, or to a surf station. Then select the room category that actually delivers the space, outdoor area and view you need.
