Find your base on the map
The cathedral and Alcázar are on the historic-centre bank. Triana is across the river; Santa Justa sits to the east. The station and Nervión’s metro stop are separate places, so compare the actual address before booking.

More sights & hotel points
1. Santa Cruz & Catedral: keep the main sights close
Santa Cruz suits a short first visit built around the cathedral and Alcázar: head out to the main sights, return for an afternoon break, then walk to dinner in the surrounding lanes. Rodrigo Caro and Mateos Gago put you close to the cathedral; Farnesio and Santa María la Blanca sit farther east, with restaurants on the way home.

Rooftop poolCasa 1800 Sevilla
Rooftop swimming beside the Giralda, with courtyard or exterior rooms.View on BookingAmadeus: its saltwater rooftop pool is open year-round and heated in winter, with a separate Jacuzzi. Standard rooms face patios. A Double Room with Terrace gives two guests private outdoor space; the Rossini suite can take four using extra beds. The hotel directs vehicles via San José and pedestrians via Farnesio.
Casa 1800: the rooftop pool has Giralda views and opens 10:00–20:00 throughout the year. Limited adults-only summer day passes also admit non-residents. Premium and Deluxe Premium rooms can face courtyards; confirm an exterior-facing allocation if daylight matters. The lift serves all floors, but some terrace or Jacuzzi categories have an internal upper level; confirm the layout if stairs are difficult.
Restaurants, deliveries and passing groups make street and room position more useful than a promise of a “quiet neighbourhood”. Ask about the window outlook and the route from the nearest permitted drop-off to reception. Narrow lanes need not rule out Santa Cruz, but they make a precise arrival plan worthwhile.
Another courtyard stay
Hotel Las Casas de la Judería — 27 connected houses and courtyards, with a seasonal rooftop pool. Ask for a room with a manageable route through the complex.

2. Centro: stay between the Setas, Sierpes and Alfalfa
Choose Centro if your evenings are as much about restaurants and browsing the streets as monument visits. Plaza de la Encarnación anchors the northern end around the Setas; Sierpes runs through the shopping streets, while Alfalfa’s bars pull you east.
Deluxe roomIntelier Casa de Indias
Setas-side rooms and a summer rooftop pool reserved for guests.View on BookingIntelier Casa de Indias: Standard rooms are interior; the pictured Deluxe Room with Views is a separate category. The rooftop pool is for hotel guests and opens in summer; confirm its dates for a spring or autumn stay.
For sleep, look at which street the bedroom faces, especially around Alfalfa. A courtyard room may suit you better than a balcony above late tables; for daylight and an outlook, choose the category deliberately.
Another central option
H10 Casa de la Plata — on pedestrian Calle Lagar, close to Plaza del Salvador, with a rooftop plunge pool and an Andalusian courtyard.

3. El Arenal: the cathedral quarter and river in one stay
El Arenal works well if you want dinner on either bank without giving up a central base. Its northern end approaches Triana bridge; farther south are the Maestranza and Torre del Oro. Reyes Católicos is a different setting from a small lane beside the cathedral, so compare the street as well as the district.
Pool terraceHotel Bécquer
Seasonal rooftop pool and a practical address beside Triana bridge.View on BookingBécquer: the seasonal rooftop pool has lift access, and the main entrance is step-free. Standard rooms may face the street or a patio; Classic and some Premium rooms occupy an annex. Confirm the building and any adapted or connecting-room request.
The riverside is useful for an evening walk, but the avenues beside it have traffic and stretches with little shelter from the sun.
For a grand hotel stay
Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville — a historic hotel with gardens and an outdoor pool at Puerta de Jerez, on the southern edge of this central shortlist.

4. Triana: market mornings and an apartment kitchen
Triana has a good everyday rhythm for a longer stay: the market by Altozano, ceramics along Alfarería, then dinner around San Jacinto or Calle Betis. Choose it because you want to spend time on this bank. The cathedral and Alcázar still require a bridge crossing, including when you return for a rest.
Living and dining areaTerra Triana

Rooftop poolZenit Sevilla
Stay on Pagés del Corro with a seasonal rooftop pool.View on BookingTerra Triana: choose the actual studio, one- or two-bedroom unit, or duplex for your party and children’s ages. Kitchen equipment and bed arrangements vary; duplexes need an internal-stair check.
Zenit Sevilla: the free guest rooftop pool is seasonal, with pool and terrace opening dependent on weather. Before a road arrival, confirm whether the temporary Calle Ruiseñor vehicle entrance is still in use.
Near the market, Isabel II bridge is the natural connection to Arenal. Farther south, San Telmo bridge connects towards Puerta de Jerez. Choose the crossing nearest your hotel. Calle Betis is attractive for an evening by the river, but a bedroom above its bars deserves a noise check.
South of Triana
Eurostars Guadalquivir — on Avenida República Argentina in Los Remedios, useful for the southern approach to the centre. Its location differs from the market end of Triana and from the Feria grounds farther south.

5. Alameda & Macarena: terraces or a basilica-side stay
Alameda de Hércules suits people who want bars and outdoor tables close to their hotel. Macarena, around the basilica and old walls farther northeast, is a separate base with a longer return from the cathedral. Compare both if you are looking beyond the busiest southern sightseeing streets, then check the actual rate for your dates.
CourtyardPatio de la Alameda
Three courtyards and an Alameda address for late dinners and bars.View on BookingPatio de la Alameda: a lift is listed. The Family Room takes two adults and two children aged 10 or under on a sofa bed. Its refrigerator is for drinks; self-catering calls for an apartment kitchen.
Alameda is a good choice when a late dinner is part of the trip. For early starts and light sleep, consider a room away from the busiest terraces, or look towards Macarena. Neither district has a metro station at its centre; include the walk or bus ride in your plans for southern sights.
For a Macarena base
Hotel San Gil — on Calle Parras near the Macarena basilica, with an interior garden, family room categories and a seasonal rooftop pool.

This search focuses on Alameda; compare the separate San Gil address if you prefer Macarena.
6. Santa Justa & Nervión: two different practical bases
Stay beside Santa Justa for an early departure, a late train arrival or several rail journeys during your stay. Choose Nervión, farther south around Eduardo Dato and Luis de Morales, for hotels near Metro L1 and the tram. A Nervión address does not automatically mean a short walk with luggage from the station.

Two double bedsNovotel Sevilla
Four-person room options in Nervión, with a seasonal rooftop pool.View on BookingOnly YOU Hotel Sevilla: the guest outdoor pool can restrict access at busy times; heating is listed for 15 October–15 April. Adapted bedrooms are available, but the pool has no wheelchair ramp or pool lift.
Novotel Sevilla: the 27 m² Superior with two double beds sleeps four; a double-and-sofa-bed category is separate. The rooftop pool opens 15 May–30 September, weather permitting. Reserve the specifically accessible room if needed; the hotel has lifts.
From Santa Justa, TB1 is a bus connection towards Plaza del Duque in the centre. From Nervión, Metro L1 reaches Puerta de Jerez, and T1 serves the southern historic centre via San Bernardo and Prado. These are separate services. If almost every day is spent around the Alcázar and cathedral, a central hotel saves the repeated journey.4

This search is for the station area; use Novotel’s exact address for the Nervión metro option.
Arrival, heat and the final booking total
EA from Seville Airport (SVQ) costs €6 per person one way; the city airport taxi fare is €26–€29 per vehicle. Check the detailed fare conditions and your hotel’s final approach below.4
Airport arrival and city fares
Airport arrival
The EA airport bus costs €6 per person one way. The €8 return per person must be used on the same day it is bought, so it will rarely suit a multi-night visit. These tickets do not include a transfer to another TUSSAM route.
Choose the arrival stop for your address:
- Santa Cruz: Prado de San Sebastián can suit the southern and eastern approaches; Torre del Oro can suit the cathedral’s western side. Compare the remaining walk with your hotel’s own arrival directions.
- El Arenal: compare Paseo Colón/Torre del Oro with Marqués de Paradas and Plaza de Armas farther north. Staying aboard to the terminus is not always useful.
- Triana: on its normal route, the EA stays on the historic-centre bank. Allow for the appropriate bridge crossing or a final taxi ride.
- Santa Justa and Nervión: use the station/Kansas City stop for Only YOU, or the Luis de Morales area for a Nervión hotel. They are distinct stops.
For Centro or Alameda, compare the final walk with a taxi to the nearest permitted drop-off. Check the live EA timetable for an early or late flight, and the return-direction stop separately.4
An airport taxi to an address within Seville city costs €26 per vehicle on ordinary working weekdays, 07:00–21:00; €29 at other weekday hours, weekends, public holidays, and throughout 24 and 31 December. The €29 tariff also applies during Semana Santa 07:00–21:00 and Feria 07:00–20:00. Telephone bookings can add the metered approach, capped at the applicable minimum fare; further destinations after the first use the meter. Ordinary baggage and Santa Justa supplements do not apply to the airport flat fare. Journeys outside Seville use different tariffs.4
City transport
An ordinary TUSSAM bus or tram single is €1.40; EA has its separate airport fare. Metro L1 costs €1.35 for a single without a fare-zone crossing, including Nervión–Puerta de Jerez, plus €0.30 for a new reusable ticket carrier. Metro passengers under three travel free; validate tickets at both entry and exit.
T1 links Nervión/Luis de Morales with San Bernardo, Prado and Puerta de Jerez. TUSSAM’s published restriction places its central terminus at Archivo de Indias, with Plaza Nueva suspended; check the current notice before relying on the latter stop. Santa Justa is served by buses, including TB1 towards Duque, rather than by T1.4
Heat and festival stays
For hot-weather travel, prioritise air conditioning and a hotel you can return to comfortably during the afternoon. A shaded lane helps with the walk; a roof terrace and a swimming pool serve different purposes. Check the pool’s season and whether the water is heated if that is part of your choice.
During Semana Santa, ask your hotel where a taxi can actually leave you on the arrival day. Processions can alter both road access and bus routes. For Feria, compare the address with the fairground in Los Remedios: a hotel near Triana market is a different proposition from one near the southern fairground. Compare dates directly before assuming a particular month or neighbourhood will be cheaper.
Taxes and charges
VAT and the reservation total
There is no per-night tourist levy listed in the current Andalusian tax framework or Seville’s 2026 municipal ordinances. Hotel-type accommodation is normally subject to 10% VAT; tourist rentals without hotel services can be VAT-exempt. Compare the final reservation total, including any cleaning, breakfast or other property charges shown for your booking.5
Questions that help settle the choice
Santa Cruz or Triana?
Choose Santa Cruz when your short stay revolves around the cathedral and Alcázar, particularly if you expect to return to the room during the day. Choose Triana when an apartment kitchen, the market and evenings on that bank matter more. Count the bridge crossing as part of the stay, rather than assuming every Triana address is equally close.
Where should a family start looking?
Start with Terra Triana if you want a kitchen, or Novotel for a hotel room that accommodates four and a summer pool. In the historic centre, Amadeus has the Rossini suite with extra beds. Check the selected room or apartment for the full party, including children’s ages.
Which base is best if stairs or long walks are difficult?
Start with an exact room and arrival route. Bécquer publishes a step-free main entrance and lift access to its rooftop; Novotel offers accessible rooms. Confirm the route to the reserved room and any required pool-entry assistance. A neighbourhood label or the presence of a lift alone cannot settle those details.
Is a station hotel worthwhile for just one train journey?
Usually the sightseeing base deserves more weight. If you have one arrival at Santa Justa and several days in the centre, take the transfer once. A hotel opposite the station becomes more useful for an early departure, a late arrival or repeated train trips.
How many nights should I book?
Allow three nights if you want two full sightseeing days with room for slower meals and an afternoon break. Add time for a day trip or a gentler pace. There is little reason to change neighbourhoods during a short Seville stay.
Where should I start with a smaller budget?
Compare actual rates at Patio de la Alameda and the San Gil alternative in Macarena, then look at Triana apartments if preparing meals will help your budget. Include the full party, cleaning charges and cancellation terms. August and a neighbourhood name do not guarantee a lower total.
